This Hispanic Heritage Month, I reflect on why silence in the face of equity backlash is dangerous for the future of leadership and Latinos in STEMM. In 2025, companies erased “equity” from filings and scaled back reporting, yet shareholders overwhelmingly rejected anti-inclusion proposals. Equity isn’t favoritism — it’s opportunity. The next generation is watching: will they inherit courage, or silence?
